One year ago, when the “Arab Spring” was breaking. Anyone with even a basic working knowledge of M.E. History knew *exactly* what was going on.

Fox News reported on the events, but they seemed a bit mug-mouthed and unwilling to even speculate on the obvious, -that the net result of this “Arab Spring” wouldn’t be “good”. Not for the People of Egypt, not for Human Rights, for freedom, for the West, Israel and it probably wasn’t going to be a good thing for anyone but the Muslim Brotherhood.

The biggest insult in this has been watching the likes of Rachel Maddow, Chris Mathews and Keith Olbermann gush and glow with pride over this “Arab Spring” and the wondrous change that it holds for the future.

I know what U.S. Government experts were saying publicly about violent extremists groups from the Middle East as recently as 2008.

-I know there has been a sea change in the U.S. Government with regard to President Obama’s foreign policy. It’s often vague and ambiguous. I wonder if the Pentagon even -has- public seminars on counter terrorism policy anymore?

I’ll bet we -don’t- talk openly or even acknowledge the fundamentalist groups that pose the most danger from Islamist groups.

The media covered this “Arab Spring” as if it were the 2nd coming. Even as Western reporters were getting raped and beaten in Tarir Square.

And the Administration did it too.

Consider the way Mubarak and Gadafi were deposed and imagine if all of this had happened while Bush was in the White House.

If this shit went down on Bush’s watch, Maddow and Olbermann would have been tearing their hair out.
